I was so sadden to hear of the untimely passing of Lawrence. I met him last year as a dealer at T-mode 07. He was such a hard working chairman, and even though things didn't go as planned, I could really tell that T-mode was his passion. Because of this, I had already spoken with Lawrence about attending the convention again this year as a dealer. I know this is a trying time for you, but I do hope that you will continue with Lawrence's Dream and keep the convention going. You have my upmost support and if there is anything I can do, please don't hestiate to ask. You are in my prayers.

With My Deepest Sympathy,

Saddened

by lynmay on Thu Mar 20, 2008 1:45 pm

My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. I met Lawrence last year at the con. I was not staffing but coming to the con for the first time as an attendee. And he introduced himself to me. Not many Chairmans ever go out of their way to make time to talk to you at a convention!I am very sad for your loss. I plan on coming to the con again this year, in fact I already did my registration and am bring 2 extra people.!If you run it I will attend! Lyn

I am very sad to hear of your loss. As anyone who had the pleasure of meeting and knowing Lawrence knows, he was a friendly, kind, and helpful person, with great patience. With the weight of the convention upon him, he always had a smile, and he went out of his way to meet and know not only the guests, but the con attendees as well. His contributions will be missed.

I encourage you to continue with T-MODE, in Lawrence's memory. I think he would want T-MODE to continue.

With deepest sympathy,

Sorry for the multiple post, I'm just so shocked at this sad news.

I met Lawrence at last year's T-Mode and saw right away how much he really cared about everyone's enjoyment at the con. It seemed to me that he was literally running non-stop all weekend long to ensure that we all had a good time.

T-Mode is the smallest convention I have ever attended, but it didn't lack in fun or heart at all. Top entertainment, guests, and events. All thanks to Lawrence's hard work and dedication.

God bless you Lawrence. Thanks again for all the fun you gave us.

Sincerely,

Dave Russell

PS
Should you decide to go forward with T-Mode I will gladly do what I can to help out. Just let me know what you need.
Pray 4 peace!

I'm sorry to just now be posting, as I've been a bit under the weather and not at the computer much. I am shocked and saddened to learn of Lawrence's untimely passing. I had never had the pleasure to meet him in person, but had the pleasure to communicate with him by phone and email several times. Even though I'm new to the Con, Lawrence wanted to give me a chance to help out, and I've been trying to learn the ropes. Moving forward, I'm still willing to honor my commitment to T-MODE '08.

To Renee and all of those who knew and loved Lawrence, my sincere condolences. Words are never enough, but know that you are in my thoughts.

I'm sorry for your loss. I give my condolences.

For Lawrence and what he worked for the con must go on. I know it will be hard to do so while mourning but based on the type of person I heard he was wouldn't he want it that way? The hardship won't be all on you but now everyone here is willing to help. You have an army behind you Ms. Shar and I want to help too. As a volunteer, attendee, promoter or anything. I once said that this little con will grow. So everyone! Let's do it! Help it grow for the Stuckeys and anime!

I also wanted to offer my best. I just read the news about Lawrence, and was shocked. I do hope T-Mode 08 happens, as I really think T-Mode has a lot of potential and to continue the con would be a great way to remember him.
I'm so sorry for your loss and wish you all the best,

Thanks to everyone for your support. If you haven't seen the announcement, T-MODE will continue in 2008.

Honestly, the question wasn't so much whether or not Lawrence would want the convention to continue. I think everyone pretty much knows that T-MODE was his dream. It was really a matter of whether or not I would be up to the task of moving forward, and if I'd be able to pull off the convention the way he would've wanted it. It takes a special person to undertake something like this, and to do it with all the heart, passion, and joy that Lawrence did.

After everyone's kind words and encouragement, I don't think there really is any other choice. So let's all work together to make T-MODE happen and to make Lawrence proud.

Hello,

I am new to the post and am Lawrence's sister. I have read many of your condolences and it makes me feel so proud of what my brother was doing. I am so happy that he touched so many people in a positive way. Being able to read the replies to my sister in law was exactly what I needed during this time. I will print them out and give them to my mother as well. I had never been to this site, and really regret not doing so earlier. I definitely want to do what I can now to make sure that T-MODE continues to be a success!

Thank you all dearly,

To Shar & family, and Mom Vicki, sis LaToya and bro Landon:

Shar, you do not know me---we never met, but I am Lawrence's great-aunt. Your mother-in-law, Vicki's mom was my sister.

I live in CA (Los Angeles), and was both shocked and stunned to hear of this painful and tragic news.

Whenever I think of and remember Lawrence, it's of this cherubic, incredibly articulate, curious and well-spoken 8-year old, who amazed everyone around him. He was an absolutely remarkable child and not surprisingly, awesome adult. I cannot express the sadness and pain of his loss on all levels.

I have been numbed and in a state of paralysis after hearing the news--the reason you are just now hearing from me. I have a card I bought the day after learning of his passing--that I have been unable to send to Vicki--only because in doing so it confirms this truly happened. I cannot fathom losing a spouse, or child.

Please forgive me for contacting you in this manner, but I had to express my feelings. I will get the card out to Vicki ASAP. Please accept my sincerest condolences and love.
