So, a little background on a few things first...
A couple years ago I quit my career in IT (thanks to the support of my wife) and I pushed myself into the music business which has worked out well for me over the past couple years. Sure, I'm not getting rich off of it but I do enjoy my work. I have my solo project (BS/OD) and I work helping younger musicians record their own music. I'm quite lucky (again, thanks to my wife) that I have the opportunity to do what I'm doing. It's truly not about the money. I've been given the gift of being allowed to do what makes me happy and I'm doing everything I can to make the best of it.
So, that brings me closer to where I am now. While I love music, I always have the urge to be a little more 'well rounded' in what I do. I'm starting to work towards the different multi-media projects (videos and amateur film) but I also wanted to do something more static in nature.
I've toyed around with some basic 3D software and it mostly has been for my own enjoyment. In the end, though, I truly wanted to incorporate something into my BS/OD project. After some planning and a little experimentation, the BS/OD comic was born as of last week.
While I don't think I could ever truly call myself an artist, I've been fairly happy with the outcome. I hope to develop my skills with the software I'm using as time goes on and hopefully I'll get better at designing more customized models instead of using so much stock stuff. Currently I'm using DAZ 3D for character modeling, Bryce for landscaping and rendering and Comic Life to put it all together. In the end I hope it just adds another dimension to what I do but I suppose I'll always be a musician first. I enjoy what I do and that's what's most important IMHO. _________________ Shaggy

WOW!
That's quite abit you've got going on. Toon Boom and E-Frontier will be hosting panels on their software Toon Boom Studio, Anime Studio and Manga Studio during the convention. You might want to check them out. It could prove helpful with your web comics. _________________ T-MODE '08 Chairman
